England through to the round of 16. All the while, playing absolutely atrocious football. The 'performance' against Trinidad&Tobago was the worst I have ever seen them play. But as most pundits say, the most important thing is that they've topped their group.

I still believe they have a decent chance to go far, in spite of being handicapped by the worst manager in international football right now. Owen's injury might be a blessing in disguise. He is a player of severely limited capabilities and too one-dimensional, as he himself admitted recently. Hopefully Eriksson will change the formation in the absence of Owen to unleash the attacking prowess of Gerrard. With Gerrard in an attacking role, a fit Rooney and Joe Cole finally playing to his potential, they can live up to all the hype.

Come on England. Look alive.
