England stumble into the quarter-finals. Another inept performance.

With three more-than-decent central midfielders in the side, they still couldn't really stitch together any decent move to speak of. Again the team seemed to lack cohesion.

But its another hurdle crossed. Although the win was a lot more laboured than it should have been. They say that the mark of a champion team is that it wins even when playing badly. If that is the case, then England absolutely deserve to win this World Cup. In the four matches they have played so far, they haven't produced even 15 minutes of good football.

England's progress so far has been a mix of good luck and inferior opposition. They'll need to step up a few gears(they haven't even got out of neutral so far) to go any further.
